I think chewing gum can benifit our gums. It does seem to make my teeth stronger and less sensitive. Sugar-free gum is better for you though.
Well, Sure gum can help you with you teeth and gums. I mean it gives you that freshness breath and clean teeth feeling doesnt it?
I'm really happy this study was conducted. It now gives us all a reason to chew gum :-) haha but i do think it really does benefit your dental health.
this is exciting news. everybody loves gum. theres really no down side to it. I think gum can be healthy for your teeth, and it makes your breath minty fresh.ha
First of all the artificial sweetener found in sugar-free gum is actually worse for you than sugar. Some of them have even been found to cause cancer (saccharin) and even Splenda, supposedly made from sugar *however not* is worse than the actual thing. But I do believe that it can help with the cleaning of your teeth. I have always been told if you cannot get a hold of your toothbrush that chewing gum is like the next best thing. It does give you that clean minty feeling (if that is the flavor) although not as clean and refreshing as actually brushing your teeth. Although I am wondering why only sugar-free gum has been approved b/c as I said above the artificial sweeteners are worse for you than actual sugar. Maybe, it helps in the clean feeling and straightening and stuff.
I believe that chewing gum can help your teeth when you don't have a tooth brush. I've chewed gum for the past four years like crazy all through edison and now through my junior year in high school and now im wondering if this is why I only had like one cavity! Thank you Orbit! And to what nate posted, you know the government says that the most random things cause cancer and sooner or later with all the crap that places are putting everything is going to start causing cancer and there is nothing we can do about it cause all the government cares about is getting their money.
I am going to have to go ahead and say that chewing gum strengthens my teeth and gums, but also makes sometime makes them more sensative. In my opinion, this is different for all people, it will affect them differently.
This is really good news considering everybody loves and chews gum. I bet gum sales are going to go up a lot from now on because of this study.
I think its awesome that this has finally been concluded. When you're out somewhere and can't brush your teeth its good to know that chewing gum really does help. I love chewing gum and knowing that is good for me, I'm going to like it even more. I saw this gum the other day too that was a thirst quencher. I wonder if that gum is good for you too.
I think it was important that they did a study on this because people would like to know if what the gum wrappers say are truthful. If gum can strengthen your teeth and clean them then that is good since so many people like to chew it. It is also good that they pointed out it was the sugar free gum and the specific kinds such as eclipse, orbit, and extra that are proven to help your teeth. Now when you chew gum you can say its because you want better teeth.
Personally I love gum. I chew it all the time, especially after meals. I started chewing it more after I got my braces taken off and I can honestly say that it does help. My teeth have whitened up and for right now I have zero cavities!
I love chewing gum i ahve for a long time i think almost everybody in this world lves gum. i belive that it can make you teeth stronger but at the same times does make them more sensitive at some times such as chewing a minty flavored gum and then drinking a cold glass of water tht would usually taste good almost freezes your teeth and makes it uncomfridable.
