Shooter dead along with six victims in rampage
In Crandon, Wisconsin, a deputy shot and killed six people then died himself for reasons unknown. Tyler Peterson, the shooter, was not on duty at the time of the killings. He killed 3 Crandon High students and 3 more that had graduated within the last year. Marci Franz, a neighbor, woke up to about 5 or 6 gunshots, then 5 or 6 more. Then she heard around 8 shots and tires squealing out of the block. The shootings took place at around 2:45 in the morning.

Why do you think an average, off duty deputy would decided to go out and shoot high school kids? Do you think the deputy got shot when he died or did he kill himself to save himself from being arrested?

Maybe the deputy knew those kids in the house and the kids gave him a hard time in highschool. So he let his rage get a hold of him and since he already had access to a gun he thought he would shake them up a bit. But in stead of shaking them up he shot them and didn’t really meant to. I think he either shot himself to get away from the press and jail or he went into hiding.
this story is very strange. It just doesn't make any sense.I don't know why any police officer, off duty or not, would throw a party it seems, just to shoot some high school kids? Maybe there was a connection between them and they wronged him or soemthing and he felt he needed to kill them to get his anger out? I just really don't see how that could make sense in anyone's mind really. Yeah I think he most likely killed himself so he would not have to deal with the consenquences.
The deputy most likely was really mad at the kids for something they did too him. So he lost control and decided to kill the kids instead working his problems out. He mostly like was havin other problems too that made his anger and stress worse. I think after he killed the kids he committed suicide to escape life in prison.
Well, it could be possible that the man has mental problems and they may have to do with those he shot, or that he lost a high school child or a brother or some emotional psychological problem that caused him to do this... How about lack of socialization... that could be a valid point. I think he killed himself either because of guilt or to escape arrest.
I think the guy was looney. Police should have to undergo a psychological profile before becoming a officer. People need to pay more attention to the actions of those around them. Maybe the officer was under a lot of stress and snapped.
I think that the deputy may have been drunk because it says they were at a house party so u never know what could have happened.The deputy probably killed himself but their is a possibility that someone could have shot him in self defense.
I'm confused on where he shot them. Was he there watching movies and eating pizza or was he watching through a window. In the article it says that one of the victims was his girlfriend. Maybe his girlfriend cheated on him with one of their friends at the party and he was waiting until then to tell them that he knew and kill them. Or maybe he was just confused and had an illness and just went crazy and shot them. There really isn't enough evidence to put a story together. But if he was killed by a sniper then people must have known that he was going to do it. Otherwise why would the government have someone look out after him.
This story is really different. It's just so random and out of nowhere. I think there's a connection that an ex-girlfriend was one of the victims. It's also weird that they aren't saying how he died. You think if he just killed himself they would go ahead and say, but I guess they can't really be sure if someone else shot him or if he shot himself. Maybe one of the kids were trying to defend themselves? The entire story is very tragic. Who would do something like this?
cj199169I don't understand why the deputy would want to randomly shoot some high school kids. Maybe they had done something to him that made him really mad?After killing the kids I think he knew what he did was wrong so he killed himself.
maybe he just had problems with himself and not with the students at all. maybe his girlfriend had nothing to do with it, either. he was unclear of what he was doing and killed some people. and bam, clear again. "oops." the realization of what he did was so frightening that he had to off himself, too.
it is a shame.

This article is interesting....but i think that he may have had like a bad day haha. Maybe he just started to break down into depression or some other thing that he may have that we dont know about. And i think that he definitely shot himself to save the embarasasment, humiliation, and probably because he wanted to die.
i don't totally understand what would drive an off duty deputy to shoot high school students, he is supposed to be someone the neighborhood looks up too not who they are afraid of.
I can't believe someone would do this. excpesially a deputy even though he was off duty. He did probably kill himself because he didn't want to go to jail or get the death sentence. I can't believe that he would kill his girlfriend or high school students for that matter since he was out of high school!
