One mirical Baby!
Amillia, who was born at just 22 weeks was taken home today after 4 months in the Baptist Children's Hospital.
Amillia is the fourth smallest baby in the world. She weighed in at 10 ounces and only 9 1/2 inches long. Full-term births come after 37 to 40 weeks, and few babies born before 22 weeks survive.

What do you think helped the baby survive? Do you think it was good doctoring skills or something else?

In the past 50 years our medical abilities have become much more sophisticated. I think that it was the new technology that helped the baby survive. If the baby had been born even 5 years ago i think that the probability that it would have survived would have been very minimal.
The baby survived because it survived. Good doctoring would help and maybe giving affection to the infant helped. It wasn't a miracle, it's just something that happened. I don't understand why when something medically happens that is abnormal people try to say that it is a miracle. It's because we're in the year 2007 and we understand medicine and surgery more than we did in the past.
I think the new advances in technology, the doctoring, and a few miracles helped the baby survive. With each passing year, doctors and researchers have found more and more cures and ways to keep humans alive longer. That's what their job is. They helped this baby that most would think had no chance of survival, live.
Aww i love babies!!! The mere fact that the baby is still alive and going half-way strong givin the circumstances is just a miricle. Although the baby doesnt seem to weigh very much, the babies length seems to be fine. I guess you could also consider the year 2007 and it's advances in technology helped too. But also the faith and will, and I'm usually not a really religious person, but every now and then....it happens. Good luck to the parents and the baby!!!
The technology these days is so advance.. as for it possibly being something other then good doctoring, sometimes things happen for a reason, good or bad. This could just be a mircle baby so-to speak.
