Security Scanner Can See Through Clothes
US Airports may be setting new and controversial standard in security with a new Security scanner that can see through clothes. It is currently being tested in Phoenix, Arizona, but some people are not happy about it. Although one has the choice of having the standard pat-down, this new security can definitely invade privacy.

Is airport security getting out of control or are these new security checks best for American safety? Since 9/11, do you feel safer with new security innovations? Is this just another thing that will waste time and slow down airport movement? Would it be a good idea to have these security scanners in every major airport? Would you feel comfortable, having yourself scanned and knowing that a police officer can see through your clothes?

i think it is perfectly fair, if you want to be safe you give up some rights, if you dont want the security option then you have no right at all to complain when someone blows a plane up because they were smarter then current secuity.
I think that this is an invasion of someone's privacy. I understand that people want to be safe, but the precautions that the airlines have been using post September 11th have been working just fine. the money used for these could be used for so many other things.
I think airport security is getting out of control, but Americans need a sense of reassurance (like this new system) to know they are safe. I honestly do not feel all that much safer. People are getting smarter, and can think of ways to still get past the system. They could always choose the old methods instead of the X-ray machine. I think this new measure is a good idea. If anything, I think it will speed up the security lines because there is now two options if one fails the first check.
I think this is a great idea. I have never been on a airplane before so I really can't speak for the safety and other precautions that air ports take. I know though, personally I'd rather have a x-ray scan through my clothes (with the certain areas blurred) than have a pat down... where they actually can touch you... But then again that's just me. And it always goes back to if you don't have anything to hide, then don't object to the procedures. Anyways, it's not an invasion of your privacy, because you have the choice. So there...those are my thoughts and I staying with them!
