Anthony Capozzi placed in jail for 22 years, now found innocent of rape charges. He was placed in jail for being convicted of 2 rape charges. While spending 22 years in jail and being denied parole 5 times for not admitting his crimes. recently he was discovered innocent and is to be released.

read the article here.

Do you think it was fare for him to spend most of his life in jail for someone else's crime? What do you think should be done about it?

i dont think that is fair. i think he should be getting some money back for that. there is no reason anyone should be thrown in jail if there is not a real reason why. obviously they couldn't say if it was true or not so why would he be thrown in jail. it makes no sense to me at all.

I dont think that is fair at all. he wasted so many years for someone else. i think they should give him money. i dont know a good amount but they should be giving him something. i dont think anyone should be put in jail until absoutly being proven guilty. if you cannot prove them guilty then let them go.

its not far at all that he had to serve time for someone elses crime. he had to wastes so many years of his life for something he did not do. they should be positive before they go throwing anyone in jail. he should be giving something for all the time he sereved when he was innocent all along.

its crazy that any one would have to serve a punishment when they didnt do anything wrong, especially such a harsh punishment of 22 years. I am suprised that he didnt just say that he did it so he could be on parole becasue some people would probably lie and admit to it just so they could get out of the punishment. I would feel horrible if i was the person you sentanced him those years in jail.

Well, of course it wasn't fair for him to spend 22 years in jail for someone else's crime, but that's what happened. Life isn't fair. I think that he should receive reparations for his time served. It's only fair.

this dude should get a large ass lump sum for it but other then that no. this guy had to have done something wrong to be convicted, just since he is innocent of one crime doesnt mean he is innocent of another

i don't think it's fair. He should be given money, a lot of it. i think this is what happens when sometimes police just think they defiantly have the guy and even if he says no, then they still give him no chance of winning the battle. Now he's probably still going to be known as a rapist even those he is found innocent. Its sad that this guy really didn't do it but yet its probably still going to follow him in his future just because he was once known as the "rapist"... another example of labeling

No it's not fair that he had to spend that time in jail. I don't even think it would be possible to give that man enough to pay him back for the 22 years of his life that he had to give up. Of course, the government will end up giving him millions of dollars which may seem like a great thing, but is it enough?

Why would spending 22 yaers in prison for something you didn't do be fair? How does someone make a mistake like that? Innocent until proven is still in effect the last time I checked. Anthony Capozzi should recieve a heck of a lot of money for this, bit I can't think of anything else that can bring back 22 years of his life.

No it's not fair but it's too late now. I'm not sure that there is anything that can be done. I don't know anything about it but giving people money who are found innocent doesn't sound like a reality. Is it? I'm also surprised that he didn't plead guilty just to go through the sex offender process.
