Children find body of a child in a suitcase in a park in Australia
-- According to CNN.com A group of children playing in an Australian park Wednesday opened a suitcase they found floating in a pond and discovered the body of a youngster inside, police said.
Police divers searched the pond in the Sydney suburb of Rosemeadow and sought potential witnesses in a hunt for clues to who the boy was and how he died.
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Clark said identifying the body was difficult because it had been in the water for some time, but officials believed it was a boy between 5 and 10 years old. A forensic examination of the body would start on Thursday.
The Australian Associated Press news agency reported that one boy said he and his friends were riding scooters when they heard about something in the water.
Police said about 10 children between 10 and 12 years old spotted the black suitcase floating in the pond, Clark said. They fished it out, opened it and police were called.
The park is surrounded by houses and is a spot for picnics, walking and cycling.

How did the child get there? Hmm, well, in my opinion the child was killed or was found dead, stuffed in a suitcase and thrown in the pond. But that is just my opinion. It is possible that the parents did it, his father hit him too hard or something and they tried to cover it up but it is possible that someone else did it. Heck, in this day and age it might have been the kids who found him. Well, I would be a little shocked but for the most part I would alert the authorities. Upon seeing a dead body I might shriek but you know, who wouldn't.
Wow! Thats sad and crazy! I have no idea how the body ended up in the water but it couldv'e of been the murderer trying to get away with it since he probably thought the suitcase would sink and nobody ever went to the water. Maybe a parent of the child did that to him becasue they didn't know how to be parents like you hear about babies in microwaves, maybe somebody went crazy and did something dumb like that becasue they ruined theri life and didnt know what to do. If i was the kid who found the body i would be scared and not know what to do, i would have nightmares for the rest of my life and if no one ever found out who the kiler is i'd be scared that I was next in line! All i know is that i'd call the cops and have them settle everything and i wouldnt go backto the park for a long time!
this story is crazy. well yeah ithink he had to have been murdered then thrown ina suitcase in a pond. the murdered must have thought it would sink and never be found or soemthing. its sad that kids had to find that suitcase though I can't even imagine what that would be like. I would need to see a councelor for the rest of my life if I found that. I would probably never sleep again.
I don't think there is quite enough information to blame the parents for it. It could have been the parents or kid could have been someone who took advantage of the boy and then just got rid of him and the evidence. If I were one of the kids who found the child first I would scream. Then I would probably (being a nosey kid) look at it and then go tell my parents. But I'm not completely sure what i would do because 10 and 12 year olds would handle the situation totally differnt.
I bet the child was murdered by his parents and they did not wan't anyone to find out so they tried to get rid of the body. Had i been the one to find this child i probably would have been freaked out by the whole thing and would wonder why someone would do this to someone.
This story was so sad. I don't feel that the kids who found the body did it, i think it was probably a young mother who wasn't ready for a child or something. That happens a lot. I don't understand why stuff like this happens all the time. People always find dead bodies in rivers etc. i dont know why people think they will get away with it. If i had found the body it would really scar me for life. I wouldn't be able to do deal with that. I can't imagine stuffing a child in a suitcase. Its so awful.
this is a story that really shows the that some people really dont have much of a soul. what kind of person kills someone let alone the fact the kid was only about 7 so he isnt able to defend himself. i just hope that the person that did this feels good that he can kil a 7 yearold kid.
this is a rather disturbing article. i can't even imagine finding a child in a suitcase. i don't even know what i would do when i found it. i think i would go into shock and then quickly alert someone that can do something about it
The child could have gotten there in a lot of ways... We don't know and my never know. where did the part of the parents come into this, they weren't even in the article. But, i guess it's possible for that to happen? Why they would though, i have idea. If i found the body i would for sure call the police as soon as possible
