I think that the added security will only help minimually. I think that there is no sure fire way that they can prevent another shooting. Kids will still try and plan it ot, and just not tell anyone. I dont think that theres really anything that can be done to fully prevent another tragedy like this.

I think that no matter what steps you take, you will never put a complete end to this. because like the others said, "kids plan this on their own or with others that will not tell" they keep it in secret.

i think that the added security is a waste of money and time bc having more people there wont chance the fact if someone wants to go around killing people. if thats their intent they will find a way

I dont think the added security would help the situation at all. It wouldn't harm anything; however, I don't think it would prevent a student from comitting any further acts.

Finally, somebody actually takes drastic action to help eliminate this problem that unfortunately, has become more frequent. This is a start, but there has to be an idea that will eliminate this problem altogether. Yes, that seems out of reach, but it can be done. In the far or near future, another tragedy will happen again. The question is when? But as we try an develop systems to protect and secure people from events like this, we need to take things that have happened from previous shootings and use them. We can solve this problem until these events seem so farfetched that no one will worry. Parents also need to be more aware of how their children are acting and be more attentive and responsive to them!

I feel that this steps may help a little but it will not get rid of the problem as long as the world is not perfect and there are angry people in the world. Stuff like this will keep happening no matter what we do but we can't place the blame where it doesn't belong like video games. People will do what ever they want and good luck to ya if you try and stop them

It could help a little, but in the end, kids are still going to think about these things and some will still do it. It may prevent some of the carnage that goes on, but things will still happen.

Yes every little bit of extra security and precautions will help with school shootings, but like others have mentioned...it's not going to stop it completely. Either the threat is spur of the moment with no thought, or there is a lot of thought and it's kept secret. There isn't really anything else that I can think of that will stop the shootings, especially at a college. At elementary and high schools yes, but at colleges or even work area, no there really isn't any guarentee.

Ya the security will help a little bit..but in today society i won't be surprise if this happens someone else. Kids will still do these kinds of things no matter how much security you have.

It doesn't matter what security they put in, it's not going to fully protect students. People who plan ahead, usually know when and where they can do their business. Nobody in this world will be 100% protected. Staff and Head people can definitely do more to help alert staff and students so a tragedy like this doesn't happen again.
