Senior Pays for 'Legendary' Prank

A senior at Hilliard Darby High School played an interesting prank on their rival Davidson High School. He and two of his friends came up with the idea from a Yale University football game to trick the other team into making a sign that said "we suck". They ended up with harsh punishment for a tiny prank. But the prank will be legendary for the two schools.

Read the article here.

I think the some people over react too much and need to realize that when it comes down to it, that prank was very funny. What is your opinion on the article? What about the punishment for the 3 kids? Was it too much or was it just right, Or do you think they even deserved a punishment for that?

that prank was amazing. he put so much thought and work into it too. of course the school is going to overreact. its like their job. They need to just lighten up. its just a joke. it's not like anyone got hurt you know? but them not being able to participate in school activities for a semester is lame. the school already has control over what we do in school, they shouldn't have a say in how we spend our time out of school. I expected them to get suspended becasue thats just what schools does you know, but they should still be able to go to football games and have fun like everyone else. The whole thing just got blown out of porportion. Why doesn't their principal focus on something a little bit more serious than a harmless prank?

Wow i think that that prank would be amazing to have actually seen done at a game. i mean it is still amazing that a couple of friends could get an entire group of fans in those sections to do that... i think that it was ingenious. just like keastx3 said i cant believe that schools over react to little pranks that students can pull on other teams its not like you go to that school or anything and they broke no rules... all he did was pass out papers theres no rule against that. The no school activities thing is really stupid to i mean if getting 3 days for a stupid little prank doesn't get through to you then i don't know how any more punishment would help. i don't think schools should be able to take that much control over how we show our pride at games.

I think this prank was clever. I actually can't believe that the senior didn't get even more suspension or anything, I mean, you always hear about how highschools try so hard to support good sportsmanship...however, it's not like he made the signs say something absolutely obscene, like the opposing school did to the parking lot. So it could have been a lot worse than I think the school officials are really making it. The highschool has to realize that it was a senior prank and nothing more than that, the opposing school ended up winning anyway. Keastx3 is right, nobody got hurt so what's the point in punishing a senior in a little prank, compared to some other things that could have possibly happened at that football game.

All i have to say is GENIOUS!! I mean seriously, who would spend that much time on a prank? I think that the punishment is way to harsh considering it was only a prank, especially a senior prank. The administration should have seen this coming, senior pranks are tradition at any school you go to. And i know that one point in their life they did a prank, whether their senior year or not. i just think that they're jealous they couldn't think of a prank that amazing.
I think that the only way someone should get in trouble for a prank is if someone gets physically hurt during it.

I think this prank was awesome. So much effort was put into that I don't think if I were the principal that I would be able to punish him at all. Although sportsmanship is a big part of high school athletics, this prank didn't hurt anyone so I don't think that his punishment should have been as harsh. It is an expected tradition to do a senior prank. I know that it was wrong but it was harmless so I don't think it was that big of a deal especially because the fans agreed to do it.

that prank must have taken some serious time. he planned it just perfectly and i am amazed at the amount of effort he put in just for one tiny prank. the fact that the other team didn't know what was going on was classic. i think the punishment received was a little harsh but still kind of ok. they should have got on trouble but not that much. one day would have been enough i think.

This prank was awesome. Although it may not be so great to the side holding it can you imagine the kids that pulled it off? Sheer brilliance. I do think they deserve a little punishment because they knew they did something wrong but did it need to be so harsh? I imagine the other team's fans feel like complete idiots for falling for such a prank. bravo.

I think the prank was really funny. I guess they did break the rules but I dont think his punishment should have been so harsh. I think the teachers should have been proud of him for being so smart and coming up with that plan. I'm sure the teachers were laughing too. That was genius.

All I can say is brilliant. I think the fact that he was able to pull that off without the people holding the signs realizing what was going on is priceless. I think that would be great to see happen at a game-i guess only if it was the opposing team though.I would say though that the punishment he recieved was a bit harsh, especially it being his senior year and everything. But I guess the only thing that matters is the fact that he sees the punishment as worth it, but i feel like maybe he would have to be a little upset with the way the school handled the whole situation.
